WEEK 7 OF LOCKDOWN: QUESTIONING QUARANTINE
I’ve been re-reading Purpose Driven Life by Pastor Rick Warren and the most poignant quote that has jumped out to me again is about seeking God’s commendation rather than comparing yourself to everyone else. Particularly now because so much has changed currently in all of our lives to making the forceful switch online.
With being online comes with it’s battles because it’s natural to compare your current life to everybody else’s and due to us all being in the same circumstances the comparisons can cause us to question every single thing. But don’t! IT’S A TRAP!
I believe questioning your surroundings and space, people and habits are sort of like a self-audit and it’s okay to do that. In fact, it should happen regularly as you learn to evolve everyday - My point being to make the most of this isolation period and not compare yourself to others because it could be the thief of your joy during this time that has been given to you. It should be treated preciously but have fun with it!
Take charge of this time, and use it wisely - we are all currently united by time so you do your thing and shine through it all.
Don’t watch or be disheartened by what others are doing during this time; after all, having an online presence only shows the best parts - but rather be inspired.
